Have a happy Stay-at-Home Christmas

We’ll all be glad to see the end of 2020 and things are definitely different this year but that’s no reason not to celebrate. It’s just that we may have to start a few new traditions.

Carol-singing, first footing and the office Christmas party are consigned to the Big 2020 Dustbin and trips to far-flung friends and relatives are out of the question.

It’s looking hopeful that restaurants and cafés will be allowed to re-open, with some restrictions, so we can drop in on a few of our favourites. We should also be able to meet up with close family here in the UK, in small, socially-spread-out gatherings.

Whatever happens, we’ll do our best to eat, drink and merrily play silly games (paper hats are not compulsory!)

Across the UK companies are rising to the challenge of bringing festive fun to our homes, so even a Lockdown Christmas can still be filled with fine foods and frivolity.

Our affiliate partner Buyagift has a huge range of bespoke gifts and hampers that can be delivered straight to your door. Their online catalogue is packed with personalised gifts, family days out and short breaks (once we can all travel again).

There’s loads of inspiration and plenty of Christmas cheer.

Pork Belly’s been browsing their list, dreaming of cake, trying to decide what he misses most in this lockdown. He finally decided it was tiers. No, not those COVID tiers, but the tiers of a cake-stand – the ones you get with a posh afternoon tea.

Our Christmas competition has now closed – and the winner chosen: Thanks to everyone who took part.
